Named after the famed Dutch apple variety that we grow in our very own orchard, Elstar reimagines Vienna’s culinary heritage through a contemporary lense. Traditional Austrian dishes are reinterpreted with Eastern touches, echoing the influences of the country’s neighbours, and local producers are always the star of the show. Drop in for a small plate and coffee, or linger for longer over an indulgent evening feast.
Tucked behind our majestic facade we have the city’s largest private garden, framed by a small orchard—an homage to Emperor Franz Joseph I’s beloved apple trees that once stood here. A tranquil enclave in the heart of Vienna, here you can enjoy the full Elstar menu, which encompasses a mix of small and large plates of Austrian classics infused with Eastern influences. With its own bar and extensive outdoor space, the garden transforms throughout the year, hosting barbecues and picnics in summer, and festive markets ahead of Christmas.

Named after the craftsmen responsible for dressing the Imperial Riding School horses, today’s Farrier applies that same attention to detail to creating impeccable drinks that encourage you to linger a little longer. Here, you can gather with friends for a midday reprieve from work or play, or gather in the evening for one of our locally sourced natural wines or creative takes on classic cocktails.
