Dance Theater "BEEF" - Vienna Premiere
Dance Theater "BEEF" - Vienna Premiere
Rebecca Horner’s dance theater piece “Beef” reinterprets the biblical tale of jealousy and betrayal, Cain and Abel, in a contemporary context. Based on choreography by her husband, Andrey Kaydanovskiy, Rebecca performs alongside him and two other artists, accompanied by the live sounds of Duo RaaDie featuring trumpet, e-zither, and electronics.
The ballet BEEF was created on behalf of the Nova Fundaziun Origen. Its world premiere was on the 18th of July 2024 at Burg Riom in Switzerland.
This Vienna premiere promises an intimate dance event with live music, set in the extraordinary ambiance of the newly reopened Imperial Riding School Hotel at Ungargasse 60, Vienna Landstraße. Following the dance concert in the evening’s first part, the second part will feature a discussion moderated by Barbara Stöckl, where audience questions will also be addressed.
Rebecca Horner, who interpreted the rich history of the hotel as a “modern empress” during the opening celebrations, is making her second appearance at the Imperial Riding School.
